Every tree removal generates timber. For most operators, that wood ends up chipped, dumped, or discarded. At Green Vanguard, we take a different view. Where timber is of suitable quality — good species, sound structure, worth preserving — we process and season it for use as firewood rather than letting it go to waste. It’s a simple idea that reflects a broader philosophy: responsible tree care means getting the most out of every tree, from the first cut to the final log.

A By-Product of Responsible Arboriculture Our firewood comes directly from trees removed as part of our regular arborist work across Sydney — not from logging or unnecessary felling. Every piece has already served its life as a tree, and we’re simply making sure it continues to serve a purpose.

Properly Seasoned for a Clean Burn We process and season our timber to reduce moisture content before it’s made available, ensuring it burns efficiently, produces minimal smoke, and delivers consistent heat output for open fires and wood heaters.

Good Timber, Well Used Not all removed trees make the cut for firewood — we select only suitable timber from sound species. Hardwoods make up the bulk of what we supply, chosen for their density, heat output, and burning quality.

Better Than the Alternative Chipping and mulching has its place, but quality hardwood timber deserves better than a chipper when it can be put to genuine use. Our firewood program is one of the ways we close the loop on our own operations — minimising waste and maximising the value of every tree we work on.
